I really enjoyed my stay at this charming spot where I loved the cozy vibe of the pub and had a hearty breakfast every morning. They offered some great relaxation options like a lovely outdoor seating area and a nice bar with a warm atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a long day. The furniture in my room was mismatched. a small detail that didn’t take away from the overall experience. 👍

The Anchor Hotel feels like a home away from home. My room had a stunning view of the Solway Firth, which was really refreshing. The bed was incredibly comfy, and I loved the friendly staff who made me feel welcome. Breakfast was exceptional—definitely the best I've ever had!
The shower was tiny, and it could use some updates.

I had a pleasant time enjoying activities in the area, especially the evenings spent in the bar. The staff were helpful and made sure we had everything we needed during our two-night stay. The view across the water was calming. We decided to spend some time outside and appreciated the local scenery. It was nice to relax with my spouse after long hikes earlier in the week.
The room had some signs of wear, and we noticed some issues with the bathroom. It could have been a bit more comfortable.

Just a fitting option for spending a night in Kippford with great value-to-price ratio. The room was comfortable and adequate for our brief stay. Be prepared for steep stairs if your room is upstairs.

Had an awesome stay with friends! We loved golfing nearby and the horse riding was a blast. The staff were super friendly and the room was comfy. Breakfast was a treat! Definitely recommend for a fun trip.
The hallways were a bit dim and some decor seemed worn, which was a letdown. Thankfully, it didn't ruin our experience.

The stay at The Anchor was quite pleasant overall. The room was spotless, and we found the bed super comfy. The evening meal and breakfast were exceptional, with the cooked breakfast being the best I've ever had—top-quality scrambled eggs. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, which made us feel welcomed. the bathroom could use some attention. it had a see-through curtain and no proper blind, leading to discomfort while using the sink and toilet. We also found a shortage of plug sockets, making it tricky to charge phones and use a hairdryer without unplugging lamps. There’s definitely room for updating, especially concerning the decor and older furniture. Still, the location in Kippford is perfect for exploring Dumfries and Galloway, and the parking, while limited, never posed a problem for us.

I had a solo stay in a Double Room with Private Bathroom, and honestly, the bed was incredibly comfy! The dual aspect view of the Solway Firth was lovely, too. The room was clean but felt a bit basic. I appreciated the friendly vibe of the whole place. Just a heads up, it might not have the flashy amenities you’d find in a fancy hotel, but it was perfect for what I needed.

the shower was kinda weak and could use better water pressure. also, some decor looked a bit tired and in need of a refresh.
